Elmseed Information Session - Elmseed held an informational session at the New Haven free public library on Saturday, April 10th from 2-4pm. Participants had the opportunity to meet Elmseed's staff, learn about Elmseed's lending program, and take part in a discussion on entrepreneurship.

Small Enterprise and Enterpreneur Development Conference

Elmseed Information Session - Elmseed held an informational session at the New Haven free public library on September 19, 2009. Participants had the opportunity to meet Elmseed's staff, learn about Elmseed's lending program, and take part in a discussion on entrepreneurship.

New Haven 2009 Entrepreneur Development Conference - On February 7, 2009 Elmseed and JUNTA for Progressive Action co-hosted the New Haven 2009 Entrepreneur Development Conference, a day-long skills-building and professional development conference for local entrepreneurs. The conference offered training in accounting, small business expansion, and legal strategies for small companies. Notable speakers included Professor Constance Bagley, a professor in the Practice of Law and Management at the Yale School of Management; Dennis Brown, the Vice President of the Connecticut Community Investment Corporation; and representatives from Community Accounting Aid and Services, Inc. and the Small Business Legal Services Clinic at the Yale Law School. Following the workshops, attendees had the opportunity to browse a resource fair to learn about small business resources in the New Haven area. Additionally, all workshops and activities were offered in English and Spanish to bring together an increasingly diverse group of small entrepreneurs operating in the New Haven area.
